We do this by offering:

All of our staff hold current Blue Cards allowing them to work with children and their CPR, First Aid, and anaphylaxis and asthma management training certificates, ready to respond with any emergency situation.

Progressive programming

At the heart of all our programs is the Department of Education’s philosophy of Belonging, Being and Becoming.

Fundamental to this, is a view of children’s lives as characterised by belonging, being and becoming:

Belonging -  Experiencing belonging - knowing where and with whom you belong is integral to human existence. Children belong first to a family, a cultural group, a neighbourhood and a wider community. Belonging acknowledges children’s interdependence with others and the basis of relationships in defining identities. In early childhood, and throughout life, relationships are crucial to a sense of belonging. Belonging is central to being and becoming, in that it shapes who children are and who they can become.

Being - Childhood is a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world. Being recognises the significance of the 'here and now' in children’s lives. It is about the present and them knowing themselves, building and maintaining relationships with others, engaging with life’s joys and complexities, and meeting challenges in everyday life. The early childhood years are not solely preparation for the future, but also about the present.

Becoming - Children’s identities, knowledge, understandings, capacities, skills and relationships change during childhood. They are shaped by many different events and circumstances. Becoming, reflects this process of rapid and significant change that occurs in the early years as young children learn and grow. It focuses on learning to participate fully and actively in society.

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) offers a vision where ‘all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life’, which is the core of all learning programs for children aged 0 to 3 years old. As children transition into their Kindergarten Program and focus on school readiness, both academically and emotionally, our Bachelor Qualified Teachers, use the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Goals, to provide a program to develop both academic skills, which prepare children for their learning into Prep at school, but also encourages and develops the key emotional and social changes that children will face, as they begin their new journey at school.

Both early learning programs, use the fundamentals of Being, Belonging and Becoming to ensure that all children feel safe, secure and supported, throughout their learning journey.

Nature play

Research shows that children should have lots of opportunities to explore and learn in their natural environment. The benefits include developing creativity, sensory awareness, concentration, problem solving and intellectual development. Physically, it also helps children acquire fitness, gross motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. It also educates children about the importance of sustainability and the importance of the environment. Our outdoor playscape includes a natural exploration zone, and we also regularly take the children on AdventureTime excursions where they can experience and get to know the world around them.
